A Dancer Recently Diagnosed with PF

Postby montazhjawn on Sun Nov 23, 2008 8:20 am

Hi All,
I was recently diagnosed with PF. My doc said she would try to have me back dancing in a few months. We did the boot/soft cast thing for 3 weeks and a fiberglass cast for 3 1/2 weeks. I swear it is worse now! I didn't have the heel pain and burning until after the cast. I mean initially it was just annoying pain that progressed to swelling at the end of the day and pain in the morning, which promoted the visit to the orthopedist. So I am really in need of suggestions of how to function with the pain because not dancing or surgery on my feet are not an options. Thanks for any help.

Have you asked your doctor about a cortisone shot, that might help reduce the pain so that you can get back into your stretch routines (calf stretch is supposed to help a lot).
