Hello everyone! I am new to this site today but am so glad to have a place where other folks ( who suffer as I do) give great tips and share imformation. Thanks! Hope you don't hurt today.

I have had Plantar Fascitis for about 2 years. My problems started 11 years ago when I quit smoking my ankles started swelling. This might have nothing to do with that at all but over the last 11 years I have gained 50 lbs ( hard on the old body) then found out I have a thyroid problem. After that I started having a small white spot on the inside of my ankle appear ( dead skin could turn into an ulcer). Then I was told I had chronic hema stasis (pooling of blood around ankles) then my skin started "tatooing" from the calf down and has since turned dark brown and feels like leather ( very ugly) it has also deformed the shape of my lower leg. I was told I needed surgery to relieve the heel pain but I will make that the last resort. 3 weeks ago another Physician suggested alternative medicine, so last week I started acupuncture. I found out my QI ( prounounced Chee) is way off balance so she is also helping me with my appitite, stress, heel pain, hot flashes ( tend to be really bad) and digestion. Now, the first visit no change, but last night after my second visit I didn't have the high level of pain I normally do after work. I work in the surgery department and we rarely sit ( small crew and small busy hospital) Hey it's worth a shot! I looked like a pin cusion for a while and the treatment pain is only when she pushes on my heel to locate the tenderness. I'll keep you in touch with my treatments hopefully this will work. We also splurged on a spa for our 35th and it has been worth it's weight in gold. may we all have happy feet soon Shauna

Hello all, I have had my 3rd treatment and what a difference. When I first wake up I don't hobble for the 1st 30 feet or so. I have really had some comfort in my heels in the last four days. hopefully it will last....... I have treatments every Tuesday. I'll keep you posted on the weekly outcomes, Thanks Shauna

Hi Shauna - Wow, I am so glad that you have found something that helps you out! How many sessions do they claim it will take to "cure" the PF? Does insurance cover it?

I really really hope this works for you. I paid $3000 for my acupuncture and there was no change at all.
Good Luck, Becky

The acupuncture I had on a previous wrist problem worked but has anyone heard of "platelet rich plasma" injection for PF?

Hi Shauna and others, I've just joined. I have only suffered for a few months unlike some of you but this is making my life hell as my job is a very active one and I don't get paid if I don't work. I have had the injection in one heel (which hurt like crazy) and has not helped one iota. I have PF in both feet and find the only shoes I can wear are Crocks! Not good in snow or rain! I too was wondering abut acupuncture. I have used it in the past for my back, which was totally cured. Does anyone know about the acupuncture ascpect for feet as it is quite expensive. Would be glad to hear your views. Annie

hi annie,

it seems you are right that yogapro ships w/in usa only.

i found an ebay uk "shop" selling them for 38.50 gbp shipped.
i was pleasantly surprised to find w/in the listing that the seller will even exchange sizes for just the cost of shipping! ("Payment of £3.50 required when exchanging for an alternative size".)

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/YOGA-BODYMINDSPIRIT

hope that helps - and i'm so glad you're going to try them! please keep us posted.

Hi Gina

Many thanks for your help, I will have a look and see. It is great to find others who are suffering, it seems more people than you realise do suffer and not a lot is known about it generally.

Once again, many thanks
