I had my right Achilles tendon operated on in early November '08. During the operation, a bone spur was also removed from below (and interfering with) my AT. The recovery since the operation has been extremely good and quick - until a week or so ago.
I've been taking PT three times a week for about six weeks. In the last week or so, if I stand in one place for more than a few minutes, I experience a sharp pain on the bottom of my heel, as if I'm standing on a golf ball. I went fly fishing the other day and could only be there for an hour because of the pain.
Obviously I'm not a doctor, but my podiatrist just had a baby and won't be available to a couple more weeks to ask any questions. I seem to be experiencing many of the symtoms of PF and would like to "cut them off at the pass", so to speak. Currently, I'm wearing orthotics that were prescribed for me pre-surgery, but which I hadn't worn since surgery. It may be my imagination, but hopefully it may feel minimally better wearing them.
I'm open to suggestions as to treatment. Surgery - again - is not something that I would look forward to.
