pain after injections

Postby kzappie on Thu Jan 15, 2009 6:21 pm

Hello,

This afternoon, I was diagnosed with PF and my Dr. gave me two injections and taped up my feet. My feet have been hurting ever since. Is this normal? It has been 5 hours now - the injections were anti-inflammatory medication. My feet feel very tight and sore. Help!

kzappie,
When I got my first set of cortisone shots a year ago, my feet swelled and hurt terribly! I could hardly walk for a day or 2. The bad news is that they didn't do a thing to stop the PF pain! The doctor who did those original shots sprayed a numbing medicine on my feet where he was going to inject, hence only numbing the surface of the skin. The Dr who did my shots this fall mixed the cortisone with numbing medicine right in the syringe and although the shots were still uncomfortable, they were nothing like what I experienced before. My feet were numb for several hours after the shots and I never had any residual pain. I had some relief this time, however, it didn't cure it. Best wishes to you, let us know how you're doing!

Not everyone reacts well to cortisone! If the pain still persists in 2-3 days or the swelling doesn't go back down in 24-36 hours, get back into the doctor, and make sure everything is ok.

I just had my first shot on 2-27-09 and I have nothing but severe pain since. I cant honestly say it was worth it. I have been dealing with heal pain since september of 08 and if I had to go back I would surely go back to the day before the shot. this is has been the most painful things i have ever had.

Ok folks,

I've been doing medical massage for 24 years now, and you don't have to suffer with this. I've had PF, I KNOW how much it hurts, but I got rid of it, and you can too. I've put together a FREE self-help guide. Just go to my website, http://www.kaywarren.org, read up on it as much as you like, but fill out the contact us page, and in "remarks", let me know you that you want me to send you "Healing Plantar Fasciitis w/o Surgery". I PROMISE, I WILL NEVER GIVE, RENT, SHARE OR SELL YOUR E-MAIL OR OTHER INFORMATION TO ANYONE FOR ANY REASON. I promise, I will not start sending you e-mails to sell you stuff, or send you chain letters or joke lists. (I really hate spam!)

When it works, and it will, TELL YOUR DOCTOR! Too many people are spending way too much money on options that don't work well. Honestly, good shoes with proper support are important for everyone, but so far, most of the people I've talked to are spending $500 or more, out of pocket with limited and temporary results, and that's BEFORE they do shockwave. Seriously, the one and only thing you have to lose is pain and agony. Personally, I was happy to throw that out the door. Let me help you GET YOUR LIFE BACK!
