I'm 24 and I've always had mild foot irritation and pain when i would get off of work. The past two weeks I've put in extra hours at work and I'm on my feet the whole time I'm there - on ceramic tile floors, if I might add. I've been having a lot more discomfort recently, but I just figured it was from the extra hours my feet were not used to. This past weekend, however, my feet were unbearable. The arches felt like they were on fire, and when I would walk it felt like all of my bones were protruding from my foot. I got no relief from sitting and putting my feet up. My toes would throb and it felt like my feet were twisting in. I also developed a large swollen bump on the top and side of my big toe joint on my right foot.
Needless to say I went to the doctor on Monday and he diagnosed me with PF and put me on an anti-inflammatory steroid. I went home and looked up everything I could find on PF, but it seems as though none of the symptoms I've read about match up to mine. I have absolutely no pain in my heels. Plus, I read it usually affects one foot at a time, and both of my feet are in agony. Does it sound as though I was misdiagnosed? Does anyone else have these same symptoms?
