wrapping with bandages

Postby jlt92 on Wed Apr 22, 2009 6:16 pm

I was diagnosed earlier this week with PF by a podiatrist. He gave me some supports to wear for a month as well as an anti-inflammatory medicine and stretching exercises. My issue is that I'm finding that the supports make my feet hurt just as much - if not more b/c now both feet hurt instead of just the one. They make my arch hurt. I'm guessing it's just b/c my feet aren't used to them and I need to wear them as much as possible - but I am a big time sandal person and it's suppose to be good sandal weather this weekend. Can I wrap my foot - wrapping the arch ''up' instead of wearing the inserts? Would that help do the same thing or am I out of luck?

I'm still trying to figure out what this all involves and what I need to do...

Thanks-
Jenn

Hi Jenn,

I wrap my foot AND use orthotics. I find that is the best combination for me, as I am a runner. I run distance but because of the injury, I wasn't able to, thus putting on some weight, worsening the PF. Everyone's different though.
