Any special shoes? Recovery time?

Postby herbflinkman on Fri Jun 05, 2009 12:18 pm

Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions for special shoes that would help the heel pain? Also is there an estimated recovery time using ice and heat treatments? Thanks for your help.

New Balance shoes are notorious for relieving aches and pains in feet. There isn't really a shoe designed to treat PF right now, although one day I'm sure there will be.

Have you thought about using a heel pad shoe insert or orthotic?

Go see a pedorthist.I was prescribed a particular model of Saucony with an OTC arch support for my rigid, high arched feet. I lived in them at all times.Your heel should be elevated, but other than that, it depends on what type of foot you have. My PF lasted 8 months ( not always unbearable, but "there"). I have known people who were better in 4.It is different for everyone, but don't be surprised if it hangs around for a few months (unfortunatly).
