Hi Alex,
Sounds like you have grown quite a bit! What you may be experiencing is called Sever's Disease, which occurs when the growth plate of the heel is injured and the bone continues to grow too quickly for the soft tissues, such as the muscles, tendons and the plantar fascia ligament, which causes heel pain.
The best treatment for Severs disease is to rest from activity, but as you said, you have a soccer tournament coming up and we do not want you to miss that! So what else can you do to treat your heel pain and get you back in the game? STRETCH! If you stretch your calf muscles 2-3 times a day, everyday, this can relieve some of the tension and strain on your calves, Achilles tendons and your heels!
Also you may want to get a soft shoe insert or orthodox to put in your shoe so when you are running, some of the shock will be absorbed by the heel cup and not transfered into your already sensitive heels.
After you are done playing soccer, if you elevate your heels and ice for 15-20 minutes immediately after activity, this can limit a good amount of swelling and relieve the pain that comes from swelling.
I hope this helps!
Dr. PF
