After 2 weeks of ineffective physical therapy, my podiatrist decided to give me the dreaded cortisone shot in my right heel. Is it safe for me to continue exercising? I know that high impact activities are out, but what about the elliptical machine? I am not a swimmer, though I understand why that would be my best bet. I also lift weights (squats, stationery lunges on the smith machine for lower body) is that OK to continue? I would guess that calf raises would probably not be a good idea. With the holidays approaching, the thought of not exercising is unbearable. That's about the only thing that allows me to keep my sanity during the chaos of the season!
